The Lake Caroline Spillway is a narrow overflow channel that connects Lake Caroline to Kororoit Creek and consists of steep banks which have been treated with extensive rockwork terracing. It includes a bio-retention basin which captures, stores and filters storm water runoff from adjacent roads before being released into Kororoit Creek. Seating areas are provided and a shared pedestrian/bicycle path connects to existing trails along Kororoit Creek and around Lake Caroline. Extensive indigenous planting of Allocasuarina verticillata (Dropping She Oak), Ficinia nodosa (Knobby Club Rush), Lomandra longifolia (Spiny Headed Mat Rush), Carex tereticaulis (Common Sedge) and Poa labillardieri (Common Tussock Grass) compliment the natural setting.
